If you're going to golf at Whispering Firs, the driver of the vehicle going through the gate at McChord needs an enhanced driver's license, passport or other form of ID that conforms to the REAL ID act if they don't have military or DOD ID. Whispering Firs Golf Course at McChord Field is well-manicured with tree-lined fairways, tough rough, several water hazards and small greens.

The Course Whispering Firs features 18 holes and 6,646 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 71.8 and it has a slope rating of 122 on Blue grass. Overall, the golf course is a challenging, yet fair course.

Eligible Play Play is open to DOD ID cardholders and authorized guests.

Driving Range Golfers enjoy year-round practice at our facility that offers 15 covered hitting areas. Range Balls: Small (25) $3, Medium (50) $5, Large (100) $9.

Directions

From Interstate 5, take Exit 125 Bridgeport. Head west approximately 1.5 miles to the Visitors Center (Bldg. 849) on the left side, prior to the gate.

To access the installation, golfers who do not have a Military ID must obtain a Daily Pass. Golfers must present a valid drivers license or State/Federal Identification. Unless riding with a Military ID Card holder, drivers must present valid vehicle registration and proof of insurance when obtaining a pass at the Visitors Center.

After receiving a pass, proceed through the gate and veer right at the first intersection, Fairway Blvd. Continue 8/10s of a mile and turn right onto Lincoln Blvd. Drive 3/10s of a mile and the Clubhouse will be on your right.
